Block colours are a very dominant trend this SS11. And Bershka April's SS 2011 collection is a prime example of this. When putting together an outfit for this trend there are several different roots that can be taken. You can go for contrasting colours (e.g. red&green, blue&orange, yellow&purple) or complimentory colours (e.g. orange&yellow, red&purple, blue&green) or bold colours of similar tones (e.g. orange, red & pink). For a more minimalistic look, go for pastles or black and white.

GaGa for Bazaar
I was SO shocked to discover just how different Lady GaGa look with chunky black eye liner in her Harper's Bazaar May 2011 shoot by photographer Terry Richardson. The thick eye make up is definitely bold enough for GaGa, and would be something i would definitely like to try; plus i love how the make up artist has enhanced the cheek bones, to bring out the fashion icon's quirky personality. And as for her McQueen butterfly mask & matching dress . . . well i think I'd sell my sole to own something McQueen.

Check out my Prada nails!!!!
How to create Prada SS11 inspired nails . . .
This idea was inspired by Prada's orange, pink and black striped dress . . . Also I couldn't decide what summer colour to paint my nails, so I thought why not use them all!!!
I used 4 different coloured nail varnishes, all warm shades, Including Collection 2000 Hot Looks in shade 29 Big Hair (£1.99); Boots N07 Speed Dry in shade 43 Foxglove (£6.99) Collection 2000 Hot Looks in shade 43 Fruit Salad (£1.99); Rimmel London I <3 Lasting Finish in shade 050 Tangerine Queen (2.99). All nail varnishes are available at Boots (although prices may vary).
You will also need scissors and masking tape to help achieve the straight lines, a fine black marker pen/nail pen and clear nail varnish.
Firstly paint nails in the lightest shade, in this case, I used two coats of the orange.
Cut strips of masking tape, and use them to outline the stripe. I painted on uneven sized stripes, like seen in the Prada SS11 collection. Use the next two lightest colours, in this case the red and salmon pink.
Unpeal the strips when nail varnish stripes are dry. Beware, nail varnish may slightly peel back at edges if not properly dry, however this can easily be pressed back down into place. Reapply new masking tape strips, to add in further stripes in a darker shade, in this case raspberry.
And voila!!! I also did it on my toe nails!

Laura Anderson 2011 Graduate Collection
I adore this new up-and-coming designer. This may only be her graduate collection, but I feel her underwear designs are amazing - the detail that is in each piece, and I especially like the print. The cut and shape of her designs are quite inspirational. I would love to own the underwear in the top picture, although I think I would just put it on a mannequin to look at, as it's too pretty to wear!!!

Romance was Born AW11
WOW!!! never before have I seen a AW collection so vivid in colour and print! I really hope that the high street takes advantage of the bright colours and clashing prints on this catwalk, as I would love for my AW to be brightened up! My favourite pieces of Romance was Born's collection are the floral maxi dress and the lace black maxi skirt.Love.Love.LOVE this collection.

Mimco AW11
Although the summer's sun may of only just reached us (in the UK anyway), fashion is yet again a season ahead, and although I have only been wearing my SS wardrobe for a few weeks, I am already excited for what AW11 may have in hold for us. Clear PVC has been carried forward from SS11, after it's use in shoes and tops. I have always wondered what a PVC trench would look like-and was toying with the idea to make my own, however I now needn't wonder. I have also been playing around with PVC lately, making a few garments using the interesting material-keep checking as I will post the photoshoot of my work soon! I also especially love the under wear as outerwear trend coming back, the sheer tops, with lace panels are so cute!especially with the knitted shorts!
